Guilty pleasures, we all have them. Be it a cheesy movie or cult classic TV show, these are things we try to keep behind closed doors. However, since we're a music site, I want to know what some of your musical guilty pleasures are and why.
Just so I'm fair, here's some of mine:
We Built this City (Starship)- This is the essential 80s song. Everything from the cheesy synths to the guitar line and the compressed drums, but it's a great and catchy song.
Wannabe (Spice Girls): I'll tell you what I want, what I really really want, to get this song out of my skull.

What's Up - 4 Non Blondes (Dance Remix Version)
The original song absolutely sucked. Despite how annoying the remix is, I actually kind of like it! XD

Dubstep. My very antonym.
(Why, brain? Why?)

I prefer movie scores. The melodies in them are so familiar yet it is also very classical in a sense.John Williams and Alan Silvestri and Hans Zimmer and Danny Elfman all the way!!!
I also enjoy jazz. What can I say? I'm a Trumpet Player, that's what we do. Even though my favorite artist is probably John Coltrane who plays saxophone.
Other than that I like any other musical genre that is not horrible or obnoxious.

I wouldn't necessarily say that jazz is a guilty pleasure, it's a legit form of music. And if you haven't noticed, I play the Sax. Oh, and Glenn Miller is so much cooler than John Coltrane. Any recommendations for some other good jazz bands or players? I've always wanted to get more into it. John Coltrane, Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, and Louis Armstrong ("Satchmo") are pretty much the jazz legends. If you want something modern, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy is pretty decent.

However, a lot of trumpeters like the crazy screaming high range, for that i recommend Maynard Ferguson, who does many pop horn renditions and nerd songs. If you want something not as instrumental, try Frank Sinatra.

This isn't exactly what I meant by this thread. I was talking about music you were embarrassed to admit you're a fan of, but I'll take it.

Yeah...music from or inspired by Friendship is Magic definitely falls into this category for me...obviously. I think that works for pretty much everyone. But, I am not to proud to admit my strange taste for: 1.Kraftwerk: Good general old electronic music. The songs sometimes do last for a while and have some weird synths sometimes. It is an overall weird music that they make, but incredibly catchy. The songs are a bit , and it takes some time to get into it. ("Autobahn" "screech choir" is a good example). 2.Funk/Old Pop: I am not one for Pop Music, but I cant seem to get away from the oldies! It started with some simple "Earth, Wind, and Fire", then it escalated to "Parliament", then "The Temptations", then "Duran Duran". But, anything that is the least bit catchy gets stuck for ages.(Still have "Give Up the Funk" stuck in my head) Yeah... I cant explain that.

An addendum to my OP: 30s/40s swing, namely the works of the Andrews Sisters, Frank Sinatra, The Inkspots, and Bing Crosby. Same for some of the "Cowboy Crooners" of the time like Gene Autry or Roy Rogers.

I grew up with (and liked for a time) country music. It didn't take too long for me to develop a dislike for it, but still, every now and then, if I catch one of those older songs on the radio, I might just linger a little bit. Still, "When the Thunder Rolls" continues to be a cool song to me.

I actually despise modern country. It all sounds the same and I don't classify it as country, just as I don't classify Taco Bell as Mexican.

I don't like ANY country. I also dislike rap, r&b, most hip hop, screamo, and a majority of pop.
